Developed as a partnership between St. Anthony Memorial Hospital and St. Margaret Mercy Hospital, the Duneland Health & Wellness Institute was designed to penetrate a new market. This $10.1 million, 53,000 SF complex combines a 33,000 SF medically based health and fitness center with 20,000 SF of diagnostic and medical office space to create a major presence in a growing market area.

The Wellness Center component offers a 25-meter lap pool; warm-water therapy pool; men's, women's and family locker rooms; sauna; steam room; whirlpool; group exercise studio; indoor walk/jog track; multipurpose room; pro shop; heart-healthy café; wellness programs; cardiovascular equipment and free weights; child-care services; and physical, cardiac and orthopedic rehabilitation.

Prior to Duneland Health & Wellness Institute's grand opening in 2002, 100 percent of the medical space was leased. By year two, a 50 percent increase in rehabilitation referrals was attained and medically based fitness memberships reached capacity, as projected. Urgent care and diagnostics visits and revenues also have exceeded expectations.
